The first Salt Water powered Car gets approved in Europe!
It goes from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, produces 920 horsepower and has a top speed of 217 mph, and it runs on Salt Water! Yes, salt water! It's called the Quant e-Sportlimousine. The principle behind the technology is that it works just like a hydrogen fuel cell except that the liquid used for storing energy is saltwater.
The power behind the Quant e-Sportlimousine is generated when the liquid passes through a membrane in between the two tanks, creating an electric charge. The electricity is then stored and distributed by super capacitors. In turn, the four electric motors in the car are fed electricity which makes it run. The car has a capacity to carry two 200-litre (52 gallon) tanks, which allows drivers to travel up to 373 miles before refilling.
