A potential groundbreaking technology is emerging – An industrial-scale capture of CO2 from ambient air!
British Columbia start-up, Carbon Engineering is now developing technology to suck the carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and convert it to fuel and other uses.
The technology works similar to trees, which can be implemented anyehere on earth, including in inhospitable areas such as deserts. The collected carbon dioxide can be processed with hydrogen, captured from water, and combined to form hydrocarbons, and reused as jet fuel and gasoline. The carbon dioxide is then released back into the atmosphere when it's burned and captured again in a self sustaining process, powered by renewable energy.
